South Dakota Wild Bird Dog Training Camp 2017
Summer often means hot weather and lazy days for our dogs. But it doesn't have to be! Our Summer camp is a great adventure for Pup!
Many of the dogs that come in for foundation work in May, June and July stay for our Wild bird Camp, where we spend 8 weeks of working wild Pheasants, Sharptail Grouse and Huns. This time is also used for those who come in for refresher and conditioning in preparation for hunting seasons around the country.
With our access to grounds, all dogs work varied grounds and make great strides in working differing covers, weather patterns and birds. At the end of the camp, we take the dogs on shooting hunts on wild Sharptail Grouse. We work from horseback, foot or ATV depending on the dogs, cover and land we are working. Your dog will be exposed to all three conveyances.
Summer Camp 2017 dates are July 31st - September 23rdth, 2017.
Guided Hunt Packages are available for those who want to hunt with their dog beginning September 25th. .
By securing multiple leases we ensure the dogs see a different course each day of the week and to keep the pressure low on the birds. This is a unique and outstanding opportunity for your dog.
Dogs from 7 months on will benefit from this camp. The young ones learn how to search and find plentiful wild birds and the more advanced dogs can really polish up.
